Hall of Fame 2024

21 legends inducted into Hall of Fame

Following the induction of 61 players into the Hall of Fame at the first EHF Excellence Awards in 2023, 21 more legends of the game were honoured for their outstanding achievements on the court and their overall contribution to European handball at this year’s edition.

Michael Wiederer, EHF President, said: “We are delighted to honour the legends of our game at the EHF Excellence Awards. This is a perfect opportunity to pay tribute to those who have left an incredible mark on the sport of handball, whether through their remarkable achievements or their influence on our sport on and off the court. Furthermore, many of them are still involved in handball, as coach or in a club’s management, and thus continue building on the legacy they have already created.”

The 2024 list of inductees included three players who dominated the sport in recent years and retired after the Olympic Games: Stine Oftedal Dahmke, Mikkel Hansen and Nikola Karabatic. The trio combine for 32 major titles across the Olympics, World Championship, EHF EURO and EHF Champions League.

In addition, there were several inductees who were stars of the game longer ago, such as goalkeeping giants Mats Olsson and Luminita Hutupan-Dinu.
