EHF Finals Women 2025

Thüringer HC beat Ikast in dramatic final for their first European trophy

Thüringer HC took their first-ever European trophy at the EHF Finals Women 2025 in Graz, Austria, in May, beating 2023 champions Ikast Håndbold 34:32 in a high-octane final.

Ikast were after their eighth European trophy, and looked on course to repeat their previous triumph, but saw a substantial early lead disappear after the break.

THC’s Austrian left back Johanna Reichert added 13 goals in the final, and 29 during the weekend, to raise her season tally to 110 goals from the start of the group phase. Reichert was also named the MVP of the EHF Finals Women 2025.

In the match for third place, JDA Bourgogne Dijon Handball beat HSG Blomberg-Lippe 32:27. It was the best international result for Dijon since they were runners-up in the Challenge Cup 20 years ago, and the first time in three meetings in the season that Dijon had managed to defeat Blomberg-Lippe.
