EHF manuals provide crucial guidance for coaches and players
EHF Experts continue to work to provide helpful manuals and analyses for coaches, players and everyone else involved in handball to guide best practice and foster new thinking around the sport.
In 2025 the key publications included: an injury prevention manual, a manual focusing on beach handball shootouts, and analyses of the Women’s EHF EURO 2024 and 2024 Younger Age Category competitions.
The injury prevention manual examined why injuries occur, and which are the most common injuries for handball players. It looked at how to prevent these injuries through strength, technical and balance training, and how coaches can integrate injury prevention into handball practice.
EHF Expert and sports psychologist Bojana Jelicic looked at the mental factors coming into play when a beach handball match goes into a shootout in her manual, identifying four psychological factors and presenting methods and strategies for dealing with high-pressure situations.
Finally, the EHF EURO and YAC analyses looked at the key trends to emerge from the Women’s EHF EURO 2024 and the summer’s Younger Age Category events. The analyses examined issues such as the importance of goalkeepers to teams' defence, the number of goals scored and where they were scored from, and the age and playing backgrounds of participating players.
