8th EHF Scientific Conference
Scientific community gathers in Zagreb
The 8th EHF Scientific Conference welcomed over 150 participants from around the world, with Europe well-represented but other nations such as Japan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia on the list.
The conference took place on 13 and 14 November in Zagreb, with a full programme of keynote lectures and breakout presentations.
The conference gave coaches and others directly involved in the sport a chance to discuss current developments with researchers from around the world. It began with the keynote presentations, after EHF Secretary General Martin Hausleitner and EHF Methods Commission Chairman Pedro Sequeira opened proceedings.
The keynotes covered topics including injury prevention, mental health, safeguarding, position-aware player evaluation, and reimagining coach education and development.
Participants also took part in a varied programme of breakout sessions, including focuses on the physical elements of handball, game-specific examinations, strength and training, the future of beach handball, and the efficiency of talent development systems.
